Roosters eye dream home run in NRL finals

The Sydney Roosters have the best home record in the NRL and they want to be able to put it to use in the finals if they beat the Gold Coast.

The Sydney Roosters are eying Saturday's clash with the Gold Coast as a chance to set up a dream run to the NRL grand final.

The Roosters can secure a top-two spot with a win at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, meaning they would host a final in the first week of the playoffs in September.

A win there would put them right through to the preliminary final - again in Sydney - before a potential grand final date at ANZ Stadium on October 1.

"A home semi would be massive," fullback Michael Gordon said.

"It would be great to play at Allianz, we've been really good here all year.

"It keeps routine familiar It's nice and easy, it's close to home, it's our home ground.":

The Roosters have the best home record in the NRL season at 9-2, while five of their seven losses have come outside of the Sydney area.

However they are wary of a Titans side with little to play for, after they themselves were almost beaten by the Wests Tigers a fortnight ago.

"They'll be desperate and probably throw the ball around a lot," Gordon said.

"It's a tricky game coming into the business end."

Winger Daniel Tupou could return for the Roosters after he again stepped up his training regime.

The former NSW flyer ran for the first time since injuring his groin against Manly in round 22 last week, and is now certain to be fit for the finals.

"He had a trot around with us today," captain Jake Friend said on Monday.

"There's still plenty of time before the game so hopefully get him back this week, but if not it will be the week after."
