Sydney Roosters utility Victor Radley has failed in his bid to avoid an NRL suspension for his high hit on Manly's Martin Taupau last weekend.
Radley pleaded guilty to the grade-two careless high tackle charge but was seeking a downgrade at the judiciary on Tuesday night.
He was unsuccessful, meaning the abrasive youngster was banned for one match and will therefore miss his side's clash with the Warriors on Saturday.
Roosters teammate Joseph Manu copped a grade-one dangerous contact charge for his knee-impacting tackle on Sea Eagles utility Dylan Walker but will not miss a match.
Penrith rookie Jack Hetherington is the only other player suspended from round nine after his crusher tackle on North Queensland forward Shaun Fensom on Friday.
