Roosters record worst under Cummins

They Sydney Roosters have the worst record of all teams under NRL referee Ben Cummins.

The Sydney Roosters have won just two of 15 penalty counts under referee Ben Cummins since Trent Robinson took over as coach of the NRL club in 2013.

In the aftermath of Robinson's blistering tirade against the NRL referee on Anzac Day, statistics reveal the club has fared far worse under Cummins than other referees.

The Roosters, renowned for being heavily penalised since Robinson assumed the helm, have lost 55.41 per cent of penalty counts in matches without Cummins' involved since 2013, according to Fox Sports Stats.

That figure swells to 86.66 per cent in games where Cummins was an on-field official, where 112 penalties have been blown against them, and 69 in their favour.

Their 2-13 match penalty count record is the worst for any team in the NRL under Cummins, while incidentally their Anzac Day opponents, St George Illawarra, have not lost a count under him in nine matches during the same period.

It should be noted that all matches were officiated by two on-field referees, with no breakdown on which referee blew the penalties, and there is no suggestion that Cummins officiated with any kind of bias.

Robinson slammed the way Cummins spoke to Roosters players after the two-point loss to the Dragons on Monday.

"Ben's been horrible, disrespectful to our players for many years and it's continued," he said.

"He speaks poorly to our players, won't look them in the eye ... The way that he spoke to (skipper) Jake (Friend) during the game was just unacceptable."

The Roosters also have an inferior win-loss record in matches officiated by Cummins, compared to all other referees who have controlled their games at least 10 times.

They have won seven of 15 matches under him since 2013, while they have won 68.9 per cent of matches not involving him.

They have also won only three of their past 10 matches under Cummins since the 2013 grand final.

Their next worst record is under Henry Perenara, who they have won seven of 12 games under.
