Boyd Cordner says the Sydney Roosters do not need reminding of what Cronulla can do with their backs against the wall.
Cronulla are winless from the first four rounds of the NRL season and things won't get any easier against the in-form Roosters at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
However, Cordner was quick to warn his teammates about complacency setting in, pointing to their encounter in round 17 last year in which the Sharks came back from 24-0 down at halftime to scrape home 30-28.
"Being up 24-0 at halftime, I don't know what happened at halftime, if the boys got too complacent," he said.
"I think that was a bit of trend last year with us. We definitely don't pride ourselves on giving up leads and in saying that we do pride ourselves on being a second half team.
"It's a bit out of character and I'm sure that won't be happening on Sunday ... That game is always in our memory and we know how much of a dangerous side Cronulla are."
Cordner said he was expecting the Sharks to have a now-or-never mentality and coach Shane Flanagan has rung in several changes with Valentine Holmes shifted to fullback and moved fellow young gun Jack Bird to five-eighth.
Representative back-rower Cordner admits the Roosters have been guilty of fading in and out of games and resistance against complacency had been a key theme.
"The reason why (complacency) is coming up is because it crept in a bit last year," he said.
"We had a bit of a slow start. I don't like to say it but it's probably the best way to describe where we go wrong."
