South Australia have rallied to be 9-192 at stumps on day one of their Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland at the Gabba.
Reeling at 6-55 shortly after lunch, Alex Ross (81 not out) and Adam Zampa (57) combined for a seventh-wicket partnership of 123 runs before the latter was caught behind off the bowling of James Hopes (4-51) with the score on 178.
However, South Australia will be disappointed with their overall batting display as the Bulls took three late wickets before bad light stopped play at 5.30pm.
After rain halted play for 90 minutes during the morning session, Queensland sent the Redbacks in to bat on a green wicket under grey skies.
Mark Cosgrove (14) and Kevin Smith (16) made a cautious start for the visitors before Mark Steketee (2-68) removed both openers either side of the first drinks break.

Veteran all-rounder Hopes snared the key scalps of Travis Head and Tom Cooper within a 10-minute period prior to lunch, before towering 204cm quick Billy Stanlake (2-43) chimed in with the wickets of Callum Ferguson and Tim Ludeman on his first-class debut.
Play was held up for 40 minutes during the middle session as the rain returned, although the break assisted the visitors as Ross and Zampa returned after the interval and remained unbeaten at the tea break.
