Holly Holm has shown she is not scared of UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, getting in her face as they prepare to step into the Octagon in Melbourne on Sunday.

Rousey is famous for demolishing opponents in quick and explosive fashion - first Sara McMann, then Alex Davis.

Cat Zingano tapped out in the record time of 14 seconds, then Beth Correia lasted all of 16 seconds.

But Holm stood up to Rousey at Saturday's weigh-in for the fight at Etihad Stadium, with the former boxing and kickboxing world champion more than holding her own in a staredown with the UFC's top star.
Holm put her fist in Rousey's face, before the champ responded with an elbow and a verbal spray.

"I told her that fake, sweet act ... I can see right through it," said Rousey.

"All that respect, all you being sweet, I see right now it is fake and you're gonna get it on Sunday.

"It's not the first time your camp thought they had the perfect plan to beat me.

"I'm going to show you on Sunday why I'm the champ."

Holm is taller than Rousey, with powerful legs and great striking capabilities.

Many of her fights in the UFC have been won on decision, and Rousey is not used to a fight going that far.

But she says she will let the fight come to her any way the champion wants.

"A fight is never mapped out and I think that's why a lot of times fighters get in there and are like a deer in headlights," Holm said.

"You get in there and plan your fight, but it's not that easy, that simple or that smooth, it's like a hurricane and trying to make sense of a big mess and you have to be OK with that, and I'm going to be ready."
