The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency, VACCA, is calling for regular reviews of existing Working With Children Checks in each state and territory.
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse has received 76 submissions on the proposal of a National system.
The Commission is examining the responses by institutions and a state government agency into allegations made against Steve Larkins. Larkins is a former CEO of the Hunter Aboriginal Childrens Service and head of the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child care.
VACCA CEO Muriel Bamblett says there is no fail safe checking system.
