Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Ruby Rose and Miranda Otto have been nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards, but the news was not so good for Australia's male acting talent.
Chris Hemsworth, Joel Edgerton, Ben Mendelsohn and Jason Clarke were all snubbed for their films.
The SAG Awards, along with rival awards show the Golden Globes, are key stepping stones for actors and films hoping to build momentum toward next month's Oscar nomination ceremony.
Blanchett is on track to pick up the seventh Oscar invite of her career after SAG voters in Los Angeles on Wednesday gave her a nod for her performance in the 1950s romantic-drama, Carol.
The outstanding lead performance by an actress category is stacked with talent, with Brie Larson, for Room, the frontrunner ahead of Blanchett, Helen Mirren (Woman in Gold), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and comedian Sarah Silverman (I Smile Back) nominated.
SAG voters gave the cold shoulder to Blanchett's performance in another Oscar candidate, Truth.
Kidman's nomination proved bad films, if aired first on TV, can still nab award nominations.
She received her SAG nomination in the TV movie/mini-series actress category for Grace of Monaco, the critically-slammed biopic that American producer Harvey Weinstein refused to release in US cinemas.
It eventually aired on the soapy US cable TV channel Lifetime, making it eligible for the SAG ceremony.
Kidman also has plenty of competition, with Susan Sarandon (The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe), Queen Latifah (Bessie), Christina Ricci (The Lizzie Borden Chronicles) and Kristen Wiig (The Spoils Before Dying) the other nominees.
Rose's status in Hollywood continues to rise with the former MTV Australia presenter nominated with her Orange is the New Black cast members for best ensemble in a TV comedy series.
The other nominated comedy ensembles are: The Big Bang Theory, Key & Peele, Modern Family, Transparent and Veep.
Otto is nominated with her Homeland cast in the TV drama ensemble category against Mad Men, House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey.
Hemsworth (In the Heart of the Sea), Mendelsohn (Mississippi Grind) and Clarke (Everest) were considered outside chances to pick up SAG nominations for lead male actor in a film.
The nominees are: Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Johnny Depp (Black Mass), Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs) and Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl).
Edgerton was considered a top supporting actor prospect for his work alongside Depp in Black Mass, but the nominations went to Christian Bale (The Big Short), Idris Elba (Beasts of No Nation), Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies), Michael Shannon (99 Homes) and Jacob Tremblay (Room).
Blanchett's Carol co-star Rooney Mara was nominated in the supporting actress category alongside double nominee Mirren (Trumbo), Rachel McAdams (Spotlight), Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) and Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs).
Winners will be announced at the SAG Awards ceremony on January 30.
Hollywood awards season continues on Thursday (midnight Friday AEDT) with the Golden Globes nomination ceremony.
The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 14 with the winners revealed on February 28.
