The latest Newspoll survey published in the Australian on Tuesday shows Labor's primary vote has jumped four percentage points to 43 per cent, while the coalition's primary support fell three points to 38 per cent.
Mr Rudd's approval rating rose to 51 per cent, up three points from the previous poll two weeks ago when it dipped below 50 per cent for the first time since he became Labor leader.

By contrast, satisfaction with Opposition Leader Tony Abbott fell three points to 44 per cent and dissatisfaction jumped five points to 43 per cent - its highest since he became Liberal leader.
Labor's credibility on economic management reached a record high of 44 per cent, while the coalition's standing on the economy plummeted six points to 39 per cent.
In the past three weeks, Mr Abbott's plan to tax larger businesses to fund a generous paid parental leave of 26 weeks has been criticised as economically irresponsible.
