Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has drawn last place on the ballot paper in his seat of Griffith.

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has drawn last place on the ballot paper in his seat of Griffith.

Mr Rudd did not attend Friday's candidate draw at the Brisbane office of the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), with a spokeswoman saying he had "commitments" in his electorate.

Mr Rudd's name will be seventh on the Griffith ballot paper for the August 21 election.

Liberal National Party candidate Rebecca Docherty is fourth on the ballot paper.

The top spot, which historically benefits from the "donkey vote", went to independent candidate Greg Romans.

Other candidates include independent Hamish Chitts, the Greens' Emma-Kate Rose, Family First's Jesse Webb and the Citizens Electoral Council's Jan Pukallus.
