Rudd goes to WA, Abbott returns to Vic

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will try and sell Labor's message in the coalition-dominated WA while Opposition leader Tony Abbott is back in Victoria.

Kevin Rudd is taking Labor's we-do-it-best message to coalition-dominated Western Australia.

The prime minister is likely to be quizzed more about his plans for a special economic zone in the north after he begins his campaigning in Perth where Labor has three of the state's 15 seats - Perth, Fremantle and Brand.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott will be in Melbourne for a second time this week after pledging to boost the economic fortunes of Tasmania.
