The coalition is in danger of losing up to four seats around Brisbane following a surge of Queensland support for Labor, an analysis of Newspoll surveys shows.
Since Kevin Rudd's return as prime minister, Labor's polling has improved across all mainland states, in rural and urban areas, and among men and women voters of all ages, The Australian reports.
The greatest difference is in Queensland, where Labor's primary vote has jumped by eight percentage points to 37 per cent - up four percentage points since 2010.
The coalition's primary vote has fallen in the state from 43 per cent to 39 per cent.
However, Labour's gains in Queensland appear to be evened out by other state results.
In NSW the coalition's primary vote rose from 48 per cent to 51 per cent, and swings in Victoria and South Australia could give the coalition three Labour-held seats.
