Kevin Rudd is mobilising his troops to reassure Australians the government is working to "provide solutions" to the problems created by its insulation debacle.
The prime minister called MPs and senators to a special caucus meeting on Thursday, asking to them to make their communities aware of what the government was doing to deal with the fallout from the axed insulation scheme.
Mr Rudd has gone into overdrive to assure the community the government is working to fix the problem, talking to industry representatives on Wednesday and announcing a $41 million program to help ease job losses.
He did a blitz of radio on Thursday morning to explain what measures the government has implemented and the caucus will be provided with an information pack to take that message to their electorate from Friday.
The parliament breaks on Thursday night and won't resume until March 9.
Mr Rudd asked his caucus to get into the community and talk to people about what measures were available.
He is encouraging them to a variety of methods to get the message out - from street stalls to local newspapers and radio.
They were also urged to talk to local businesses and homeowners affected by the scheme to get feedback on what sort of solutions they needed.
