The French Foreign Ministry says Mr Rudd will visit the villages of Bullecourt and Villers-Bretonneux near the river Somme on Monday to honour the Anzacs who fought there in 1918.

Mr Rudd will be in the country for two days and will also meet French ministers to discuss major foreign policy issues while Paris holds the presidency of the G20 group of world powers of which Australia is a member.
