Rugby - Hamstring injury rules Taylor out for Scotland

GLASGOW (Reuters) - Scotland centre Duncan Taylor has been ruled out of Saturday’s Six Nations clash with England after suffering a hamstring injury in club action at the weekend, the Scottish Rugby Union announced on Tuesday.

Taylor was hurt playing for Saracens in their 35-27 victory over Newcastle on Sunday and missed out on a chance to return to the Scottish team for the Calcutta Cup match at Twickenham.

The English-born 27-year-old, who has won 18 caps, has not featured for Scotland since last year’s tour of Japan but was hoping for a recall.

The Scots have already lost the services of skipper Greig Laidlaw and back row forwards Josh Strauss and John Hardie to injury during the tournament.
