Brett Rumford's experience showed as he built a four-shot lead going into the final round of the WA PGA Championship in Kalgoorlie.

A five-time winner on the European tour, 38-year-old Rumford stayed patient in tough conditions at Kalgoorlie GC to shoot a five-under-par 67 third round and get to 15-under in the PGA Tour of Australasia event.

Joining the West Australian in Sunday's final group were Queensland's Jason Norris and SA's Daniel Nisbet who each shot 71s to be tied second.

Maintaining his impressive showing, 17-year-old amateur Min Woo Lee - younger brother of LPGA star Minjee Lee - shot a 73 to be tied fourth with Queenslander Aaron Pike (70).

Despite the temperature being a little cooler, swirling wind made the course a more challenging proposition.
