International movie star Russell Crowe has shown support for a disabled bird a Gloucestershire woman found by the side of the road after the BBC reported it was named after him.
"Haha cool, what a nice lady Helen is to look after the poor blighter," he wrote.
'Russell Crow', which is actually a rook and has a Twitter account run by his owner, Helen Motteram, thanked the actor for reaching out to him.
The bird has crooked feet and can't fly, according to Ms Motteram.
Russell Crowe's tweet had been much anticipated after 'Russell Crow' reached out to the actor earlier in the month asking for a "birthday tweet" to mark it's first birthday.
Ms Motteram said she'd developed a close connection with the bird, adding it can even get jealous when she gives other people her attention.
"If I'm sort of giving my husband affection or if we're trying to watch the TV, he'll give me a nasty peck on the foot," Ms Motteram said.
