Daniil Medvedev has beaten Steve Johnson in straight sets to secure the Winston-Salem Open and his second career ATP world tour title.
The 22-year-old Medvedev recorded a routine 6-4 6-4 win on Saturday in one hour and 24 minutes - not dropping a set in six matches at the final US Open tune-up event.
The Russian, who won the Sydney Invitational in January as a qualifier, will jump up 21 spots to 36th in the world rankings on Monday.
The eighth-seeded Johnson came up short in a bid to become the only player this year to win titles on three different surfaces.
The American won the US Men's Clay Court in Houston in April and the Hall of Fame event on grass in Rhode Island last month.
