Lyudmila Gurchenko, Russia's Elizabeth Taylor, dies of heart attack at the age of 75.

Gurchenko died at home, the Interfax news agency reported. According to news reports, not long before her death the actress underwent serious hip surgery.

Gurchenko started her acting career back in 1956, when she was still a student. That year she starred in “Carnival Night,” and her role in this movie immediately made her famous all across the Soviet Union. Following many roles in Soviet movies, she was named “People's Actress” in 1983.
