SA cleaners worked for free: Ombudsman

The Fair Work Ombudsman has accused a South Australian cleaning business of refusing to back-pay eight workers more then $7500.

A South Australian cleaning business has been accused of underpaying and not paying workers.

Shan's Cleaning Services, based in Whyalla on SA's Eyre Peninsula, has allegedly refused to back-pay three employees more than $7500 for work between January and April last year, the Fair Work Ombudsman says.

Another five workers have not been not paid at all.

The owner will appear in Adelaide's Federal Circuit Court of Australia on February 3 and the Ombudsman will seek a court order for back-pay plus interest.
