A satellite communications company is set to expand its Adelaide operations ahead of the launch of its first satellite in 2015.
NewSat Ltd said on Tuesday the City of Salisbury had approved a development plan for its Mawson Lakes facility.
The company said the larger operations would assist technology development and increase the number of high-tech jobs on offer.
NewSat's Jabiru 1 satellite is scheduled for launch in late 2015 and will provide high-bandwidth communication services to much of Australia, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Salisbury mayor Gillian Aldridge said council staff had worked closely with NewSat to provide the company with significant support.

"This facility will provide the community with high-tech innovative jobs into the future," she said in a statement.
