Young South Australian Brad Moules claimed victory in just his sixth PGA Tour of Australasia start when he won the PNG Open in a three-man playoff.
Moules fired a closing five-under 67 to get to 11 under then watched as Queenslanders Aaron Wilkin and amateur Anthony Quayle joined him.
Wilkin blew a big winning chance when he took a double bogey on the last hole to drop into the playoff.
Quayle dropped out at the first extra hole and Moules prevailed with a birdie at the next hole, collecting $21,000 and a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
Moules, who completed a PGA traineeship at Royal Adelaide Golf Club, will now have a place in all the tour's biggest events.
"It's amazing, first year on Tour, only six starts in and I have got the first win out of the way. I am rapt," said Moules.
"If I had of finished runner-up I would still be trying to get a start on qualifying school status.
"I feel like I can play well in the big events, my finish at the NZ Open showed that and hopefully I can feature well in the ones at the end of the year."
