SA man charged with people smuggling

An Adelaide man has been charged over a people smuggling operation in Indonesia.

An Adelaide man is accused of people smuggling while living in Indonesia.

The 35-year-old man from Elizabeth South tried to smuggle a non-citizen into Australia in a boat while he was living in Indonesia, federal police say.

The man, arrested at work after federal and South Australian police searched his home and office on Tuesday, is also accused of communicating with people smugglers in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India.

He will appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with people smuggling.
