South Australia paceman Chadd Sayers has again shredded Tasmania's batting to put the Redbacks on track for a thumping Sheffield Shield win.
Sayers followed his six-wicket haul in the first innings with three more in the second dig to leave the Tigers reeling at 4-57 - some 326 runs behind - at stumps on Saturday's second day of play.
The Redbacks bowled Tasmania out for 98 in the first innings and then banked an imposing 481 all out, with Jake Weatherald and Jake Lehmann scoring centuries.
Sayers then continued to press his Test claims, removing Jordan Silk and Beau Webster for ducks in the first over of the second innings.
After Daniel Worrall claimed the wicket of Alex Doolan for eight, Sayers then trapped Ben Dunk lbw to leave the Tigers in disarray at 4-18.
Captain George Bailey (20no) and Dom Michael (16no) navigated to stumps but the Tigers are staring at consecutive losses to start their Shield campaign.
In contrast, the Redbacks should post consecutive wins after an away triumph against Western Australia last week.
"The bowlers we have got are really on top and it really helps the batters," said SA opening bat Weatherald, whose 135 was his maiden first-class century.
"It (another win) would be a great step and send a message to a few other teams about how well we are playing.
"It's a long season so we have to make sure we are consistent about it every time we go out there to play."
Weatherald's ton and the composed unbeaten 129 from Lehmann, the son of Australia coach Darren Lehmann, delivered SA a commanding 383-run first innings lead.
Sayers then produced more masterful swing bowling and at the close of play had sterling figures of 3-9 from eight overs.
