SA police search for missing camel

A replica camel, filled with 200 kilos of sand, has been stolen from a property in a winery region of South Australia.

A life-size fibreglass camel with a missing ear has been stolen from a South Australian property.

The thieves faced a massive challenge in moving the replica, which is 183cm tall, filled with 200kg of sand and has a broken rear left leg.

The camel went missing from the front of the McClaren Vale property overnight on August 2 to 3, police said on Thursday.
