A re-elected Weatherill government will invest nearly $7 million to teach South Australian school children to code.
Premier Jay Weatherill says the state's 114,000 public primary school students will receive lessons on computing coding as part of a $6.7 million investment to prepare them for the jobs of the future.
"Learning coding empowers students to be able to understand the technology shaping our world," Mr Weatherill told reporters on Monday.
The funding will go toward ensuring teachers have the necessary skills and capabilities to teach coding.
South Australians head to the polls on March 17.
