South Australia's federal representatives want to force government MPs to put their names on the record in support - or not - of the integrity of the Murray-Darling Basin plan.
An unlikely grouping of Labor's Senate leader Penny Wong, Green senator Sarah Hanson-Young, independent Cory Bernardi and the Nick Xenophon Team will ask parliament this week to back a resolution calling for a judicial inquiry via COAG into allegations of water theft from the basin.
Labor water spokesman Tony Burke told Sky News the government couldn't walk away from the resolution and still say it fully backed the basin plan.
