SA to create $2 million 3D city map

The SA government is creating a $2 million 3D map of the Adelaide CBD to assist with planning and development

A $2 million 3D map of Adelaide's central business district and surrounding suburbs will be created to assist with planning and urban development.

The first stage of the project mapping key parts of the CBD is expected to be completed by the end of this financial year with the project to extend to the city's coast over the next two years.

"3D modelling is used around the world with great success and will allow the public to visualise a proposal and how it will fit with the existing streetscape," Planning Minister John Rau said on Tuesday.
