A 100-turbine wind farm in South Australia will create up to 250 construction jobs.

The Hornsdale wind farm, in SA's mid-north region, will be operational by 2017 and will also create 10 permanent jobs, Climate Change Minister Ian Hunter says.

The $250 million wind farm was developed by French renewable energy company Neoen, and is expected to initially produce enough power for about 60,000 homes.
