Safety car incidents of the Bathurst 1000

WHAT TRIGGERED THE SAFETY CARS IN THE BATHURST 1000?

No.1 - Lap 25. Fabian Coulthard and Luke Youlden's Holden had to be recovered from the sand trap after The Chase, with Youlden losing control at the world's fastest corner in touring car racing.

No.2 - Lap 45. A kangaroo clipped Youlden's Commodore while travelling along Mountain Straight. Soon after, Ford co-driver Paul Morris crashed into a tyre wall on the broken-up tarmac at turn two. Under the safety car, Dale Wood ran up the back of the Commodore of teammate Andrew Jones, co-driving for Jason Bright.

No.3 - Lap 58. Nissan's Taz Douglas and Ford's Scott Pye both hit the wall after sliding on the deteriorating road at turn two - Douglas for the second time. Two laps later the race was suspended to repair the damage.

No.4 - Lap 65. Steven Johnson's retro-themed No.17 Ford Falcon had be towed back to the garage after slamming into a wall at the top of the mountain with a huge slide out of Sulman Park. Moments earlier Holden's superstar Jamie Whincup took out the Nissan of Todd Kelly, damaging both cars.

No.5 - Lap 72. A second crash for Ford driver Pye, this time at around 280km/h along Conrod Straight, destroyed his car and ended his Bathurst campaign early.

No.6 - Lap 103. Tim Slade became another victim of the brutal Reid Park, bouncing his Holden off two concrete walls and writing off his car.

No.7 - Lap 116. The Volvo of Robert Dahlgren had to be recovered after crashing at The Cutting. David Reynolds' Ford had to be rolled back to the pits in the meantime after his alternator died.

No. 8 - Lap 119. In a carbon copy of teammate Dahlgren's crash, Scott McLaughlin clipped the wall at one of the tightest corners of the track.

No.9 - Lap 133. Lee Holdworth's Mercedes-Benz is flipped on its roof after being collected by Russell Ingall's Holden at the troublesome turn two.

No.10 - Lap 150. The Cutting claims another casualty, with Ingall's co-driver Tim Blanchard sending their Commodore into the barrier.
