Saint Nathan Freeman injured in VFL

Luckless St Kilda midfielder Nathan Freeman has suffered a shoulder injury in the VFL.

Luckless St Kilda AFL midfielder Nathan Freeman has suffered another injury setback.

Playing for the Saints' VFL affiliate Sandringham, Freeman came off midway through the first term of Saturday's 65-point loss to Richmond clutching his shoulder after a collision with Tigers veteran Steven Morris.

The club said he had damaged the AC joint, with scans to determine the severity of the injury.

The highly rated Freeman was selected by Collingwood with pick 10 in the 2013 national draft, before being traded two years later to St Kilda.

But multiple serious hamstring injuries mean he is still yet to make his senior debut.
