St Kilda coach Alan Richardson says he'll look at every recruitment option available to him, with the AFL club being linked to Brisbane's Tom Rockliff.

Contract talks between the Lions and their captain have stalled with Rockliff reportedly unwilling to budge on a five-year, $800,000 per season demand.

With the Lions apparently unsure if they want to offer the 26-year-old such a lengthy and lucrative option, several Victorian clubs are being linked to the midfielder.

Richardson says while he won't comment specifically on Rockliff, it's no secret the Saints are on the hunt for new blood.

"We're being pretty open, we're looking to add to our list," he said.

"We know we've got a fair bit of work to do on our list. Most of that will come through national draft but if there's someone there from a trading perspective or a free agent perspective that fits our footy club, then we'll look at everyone."

Statistically Rockliff has had a strong season for the struggling Lions, averaging 37.5 disposals per game in the past month including a massive 48 touches against Carlton in round 11.

But critics say Rockliff's output isn't damaging to opponents, and have queried his defensive effort as well.

Rockliff told News Corp Australia earlier this week he remained committed to the Lions despite speculation over his future.

"I've been through the hard times and I want to see this through," he said.

"I don't think there's any uncertainty around that."
