NRL star Sam Burgess has been swimming with sharks while honeymooning in the Maldives with writer Phoebe Burgess.
The pair married just days after Christmas in a ceremony held in the NSW Southern Highlands surrounded by family and friends.
The newlyweds have been busy posting images of their holiday to social media showing Phoebe relaxing in the crystal blue water and Sam swimming with sharks.
Sam tweeted a 15-second GoPro video of his close encounter with the deadly sea creature.
"I got the shark. Took me 5 days to find. Such an amazing experience. @GoProANZ #Obsessed what a creature," he tweeted.
