Sam Mitchell set for first Eagles game

Former Hawthorn AFL star Sam Mitchell will play his first game for new club West Coast in their pre-season clash with Fremantle.

AFL star Sam Mitchell will play his first game in West Coast colours this weekend, but Melbourne's Jack Watts has again been left out of pre-season fixtures.

Former Hawthorn champion Mitchell will join fellow veteran recruit Drew Petrie in Saturday's clash with Fremantle in Geraldton after the pair missed the loss to Greater Western Sydney last weekend.

The Dockers themselves will unveil fresh faces, with premiership players Bradley Hill and Joel Hamling to run out with Shane Kersten and Cam McCarthy.

Oft-maligned forward Watts, who's been urged by teammates to lift his pre-season efforts, is a non-selection for a second straight week as the Demons meet Carlton on Friday.

Former Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell will play in Hawthorn's clash with North Melbourne on Sunday.

Richmond and Adelaide kick off the second round of pre-season games on Friday at Etihad Stadium, with the Tigers newcomers Dion Prestia, Josh Caddy and Toby Nankervis named in the squad.
