Tributes to Australian actress Wendy Hughes have continued on social media.
Hughes, who is best known for her role in Gillian Armstrong's My Brilliant Career in 1979 and the 1983 mini-series Return to Eden, for which she won a Logie, lost her battle with cancer on Saturday at the age of 61.
Ireland-born, New Zealand based actor Sam Neill, who starred alongside Hughes in My Brilliant Career, took to Twitter on Saturday to express his pain after hearing the news.
"Very distressed to hear Wendy Hughes, loveable, outrageous, beautiful, hilarious, talented, utterly gorgeous friend has died," he tweeted.
An hour later he wrote: "The very last time we worked together, how sad - never again. That lovely girl. Wendy Hughes."
