Sao Paulo draw 1-1 with Gremio in Brazil's Serie A

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Caretaker coach Andre Jardine led Sao Paulo to a 1-1 draw against Gremio in his first game in charge on Thursday, a result that leaves both teams tied in fourth place in the league and all but out of the running for the Serie A title.

Everton put the visitors ahead after 56 minutes but Gremio defender Michel scored an own goal 17 minutes later to level the scores.

The result means both sides are 11 points behind leaders Palmeiras, with only four games of the season remaining.
