Sarcoma is one of the most aggressive primary cancers with a mortality rate of 50 per cent.
Receiving less than one per cent of cancer research funds, Sarcoma accounts for 20 per cent of childhood cancers.

“Of every five people who contract sarcoma, only three survive. I am one of the lucky ones, but I want those who contract sarcoma in future to be able to rely on better science, better chemotherapy, and not just luck,” Miss Cole said.

Ellie Cole is a survivor of sarcoma, and as a child underwent the amputation of a leg as part of her treatment. She is one of the brightest hopes for the Australian Paralympic team at the London Games.
