'Science experiment' sparks Danish scare

Danish police say a suspicious-looking car was in fact "some kind of scientific experiment".

Danish police have called off a bomb investigation in central Copenhagen, saying the suspicious-looking vehicle that prompted the evacuation of nearby buildings was part of a scientific experiment.

Police spokesman Hans Sinding said bomb experts investigating the car on Tuesday found "it was some kind of scientific experiment" and that police now want to talk to the car's owner.

He had previously said the Swedish-registered vehicle had wires sticking out of the windows and objects inside that made it "very suspicious".

Police had closed several busy streets around the Kongens Nytorv square and evacuated dozens of people from nearby buildings.
