Getting Australia's politicians to put more emphasis on science is the key goal of a two-day gathering in Canberra.

Getting Australia's politicians to put more emphasis on science is the key goal of a two-day gathering in Canberra.

The peak group for scientists, Science and Technology Australia, has more than 200 of its delegates in Canberra for face-to-face meetings with politicians.

Its chief executive Catriona Jackson told Greg Dyett the annual event is designed to lift the profile of science for the longer term.
