Queensland prop Matt Scott admits a changing of the guard is inevitable for the Maroons but he's in no hurry to call time on his State of Origin career.
Corey Parker will step away from representative football at the end of this year's series, with Wednesday's game three in Sydney to be the lock's 19th and final Origin appearance.
Veteran back Justin Hodges called it quits last year while Johnathan Thurston is considering calling time on his Origin career at the end of next year's series.
With Scott, Cameron Smith, Nate Myles, Cooper Cronk and Sam Thaiday all the wrong side of 30, the front-rower admits the end of an era is fast approaching.
"There's no succession plan as such if that's what you want to call it," Scott said.

"There's going to be a lot of personnel changes over the next few years - there's a lot of guys over 30 in this group.
"We're all still playing pretty decent footy.
"I'm not going to be trying to give the baton over earlier than I have to.
"As long as I can continue to do my job for the team and I'm playing well, deserving selection, I'll be putting my hand up."
NSW will be farewelling captain Paul Gallen in next week's clash but Scott says the Maroons are just as determined as the Blues to send out Parker a winner.
Scott said the Brisbane captain had been one of the most impressive players he'd spent his Origin career alongside.
"He's another one that's very selfless, brings a lot to the team both on and off the field," Scott said.
"He's great to be around, good mates with all the players and what he does on the field is just incredible considering how long he's been doing it for."
