Adam Scott will focus on getting his swing back on track this week as he continues gearing up towards the Masters in April.
Scott proved his much-maligned putting wasn't an issue with a good week on the greens in the Northern Trust Open where he finished runner up to Bubba Watson on Sunday.
He now moves to the Florida swing, starting at this week's Honda Classic, looking to improve off the tee as he ramps up his efforts heading towards the season's opening major.
Before he tackles the Augusta National, Scott must first conquer the PGA National this week - a course that rewards precision and punishes wayward shots with water hazards present on several holes.
The former world No.1 hit just 27 of 56 fairways at the Riviera Country Club last week and currently ranks 177th in driving accuracy on the US tour this season.
Scott averages 309.9 yards (283.3 metres) off the tee - sixth on the PGA tour - and this can allow for the odd miss in the rough, but he knows he won't get away with being off-radar this week.
"I wasn't severely penalised (last week)," Scott confirmed as Riviera's rough was down on usual standards after drought conditions in California.
"I'm worried about this week if I don't start hitting it a bit better.
"I would like to get to Thursday feeling a little tighter with the driver. I felt the rest of the stuff was good, the driver just a little too loose.
"But it's not far away. Maybe just knowing this course, I'll swing a bit more within myself because you don't want to be in the rough or obviously water."
For Scott, who has moved back to 13th in the world having slipped to 19th, it is all part of his build up to the Masters, where he wants to add to his historic 2013 triumph.
He'll play the World Golf Championship strokeplay event in Miami the following week, and then the Arnold Palmer Invitational before the WGC Match Play Championship in the lead up to Augusta.
"I just want to build the confidence heading to the Masters and if that means winning, being in contention, being content with where things are at, that is what I need to ensure I go to Augusta with full belief that I am the only guy going to win there," he said.
Also in the field this week is Australian Open champion Matt Jones who is looking to move into the world top 50 to get a start at next week's WGC event.
Robert Allenby, Geoff Ogilvy, John Senden and Stuart Appleby are also in action.
