The body of teacher Stephanie Scott has been found in a national park in the NSW Riverina region.

At 5pm on Friday police discovered Ms Scott's body in Cocopaara National Park.

The Leeton teacher was allegedly murdered by a school cleaner on Easter Sunday.

A crime scene is in place at the location with forensic police combing the area.

It comes merely hours before Ms Scott was meant to marry her fiancé Aaron Leeson Woolley.

Vincent Stanford, a cleaner at Ms Scott's workplace of Leeton High School, was charged with her murder on Thursday.

It is understood he has not been assisting police after they found images of a burned body on a camera allegedly in Stanford's white Toyota Hilux.

It is understood police used a triangulation based off Stanford's phone to narrow down a search area for Ms Scott's body.
