Sea Eagles' Taufua out for eight weeks

Manly winger Jorge Taufua has been ruled out for eight weeks with a broken collarbone suffered in last week's defeat to South Sydney.

The hits keep coming for Manly following confirmation winger Jorge Taufua has been ruled out for eight weeks with a broken collarbone.

Taufua suffered the injury in last week's loss to South Sydney, and comes just a day after the club was stripped of $660,000 from their salary cap over the next two years due to illegal player payments.

The injury is another blow to the Sea Eagles winger, who was just three weeks into his return from a knee reconstruction, and still have star centre Dylan Walker on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Prop Darcy Lussick is also yet to appear this year after picking up an ankle injury in the club's first trial.

Taufua's injury has forced coach Trent Barrett to recall Matthew Wright for Saturday's clash with Canberra, with Jackson Hastings keeping his spot as a utility on the bench.

Taufua is will now be aiming for a return in the Sea Eagles' round 12 clash against the Raiders.
