The search for 23 people still missing after an avalanche hit a hotel in Italy is continuing amid extreme weather conditions.
Last week's avalanche buried the Rigopiano hotel, with guests inside, following a series of four earthquakes in central Italy.
Fire department spokesperson, Luca Cari, said there was still hope of finding survivors as "people could still be resisting" in areas that had remained intact under thousands of tonnes of snow and rocks that fell onto the hotel.
Rescuers had not seen any signs of life in the past 36 hours, having found nine survivors on Friday, among them four children.
The body of a Senegalese man who worked in the kitchens was discovered on Sunday, though emergency teams were yet to retrieve it.
This discovery brought the total number of deaths so far to six.
Rescue teams were using shovels and their hands in order to conduct the operation, as the use of machinery was not possible due to fears it could lead to the building's collapse.
The fire department released images showing one of its members trying to descend, apparently with great difficulty, via a small gap in the snow in search of the missing.
