Search for missing boater in north Qld

An air and land search continues in north Queensland for a man missing after his boat overturned on Tuesday night.

Police are searching for a man whose boat was found upturned in the the Leichhardt River in north Queensland.

Two men, aged 33 and 32, had been onboard the boat which was found near Burketown, in the Gulf of Carpentaria, about 11.30pm on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old man was found and taken Mount Isa Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An air and land search involving water police, SES crews and locals continues for the 33-year-old man.
