The search for a Sunshine Coast man who's presumed to have fallen overboard from a fishing boat off Queensland has been called off.
Water police had been searching for Jeffrey Costar, 35, who was reported missing from 24-metre charter fishing vessel MV Night Crossing early on Sunday, about 200km northeast of Yeppoon.
Queensland Police on Tuesday afternoon said the search had been suspended based on expert advice indicating Mr Costar could not have survived that long in the water.
Authorities briefed Mr Costar's family.
He was last seen at 2am on Sunday, with a fellow crew member raising the alarm two hours later.
