Second NRL star accused of woman's assault

Wests Tigers forward Zane Musgrove has reportedly been charged with an act of indecency and aggravated assault after an incident at a Sydney hotel.

Wests Tigers forward Zane Musgrove has reportedly become the second NRL player in as many days to be charged with assaulting a woman.

The 22-year-old former South Sydney prop handed himself in to police during the week after an investigation into an incident at Coogee Bay Hotel in the city's east last month, according to media reports on Friday.

Police allege the woman, 22, initially alerted hotel security before providing a statement to detectives at Maroubra.

Along with a second 22-year-old man who also surrendered to police, Musgrove has reportedly been charged with a string of offences including assault with an act of indecency and aggravated indecent assault.

Both men have been granted conditional bail to appear on January 23 in Waverley Local Court.

The Tigers released a statement on Friday, saying the NRL's integrity unit had been informed of the matter.

"Wests Tigers takes its position in the community very seriously and will work with the NRL Integrity Unit and NSW Police on the allegations," it read.

News of Musgrove's arrest followed that of Manly star Dylan Walker, who was charged late on Thursday night with assaulting his 24-year-old fiancee at their northern beaches home.

Musgrove had domestic violence charges against him dismissed in September.

He was convicted on one count of destroying or damaging property in May, fined $1100 and ordered to pay $500 compensation.

The former Rabbitohs' player was released by the club in late November before joining the Tigers on a three-year deal.
