A second round of sales designed to move NSW state-owned electricity assets into private hands has reportedly been halted at the behest of senior Labor ministers.
Treasurer Eric Roozendaal was planning a $2 billion sale of trading rights of the Delta Coastal and Macquarie Generation generators.
But the move has been blocked by senior Labor ministers and the party's head office, News Ltd reported on Thursday.
It said senior government sources had confirmed the second round of sales would not proceed.
NSW Premier Kristina Keneally was quoted as saying: "I cannot give a guarantee that the evaluation of the second tranche will be concluded before the election."
