Senate inquiry into use of drones

A Senate committee will look into the potential use of drones for agriculture, search and rescue and fire and policing operations.

A Senate committee will investigate the use of drones and how to regulate them.

The inquiry, proposed by both sides of parliament as well as crossbenchers, will look at how the aircraft can be used for agriculture, mining, search and rescue and fire and policing operations.

It will look also at the existing and future regulatory requirements for drones.
