A push to ban gambling inducements, which contribute to the financial ruin of scores of Australians, will be introduced to the Senate.

Anti-gambling campaigner and independent senator Nick Xenophon will introduce a private members bill on sweeping online gambling reform on Tuesday afternoon.

He wants micro-event betting outlawed and in play betting loopholes closed.
